Question: How to UNLOCK a TracFone Sim Card so it could be used on any UNLOCKED GSM Phones?
I wanted to know how I can unlock tracfone sim card so it could be used for my unlocked HTC Fuze if it cant be done can you give me a list of other GSM providers that have a reasonable pricing.
I know it can be done, I have seen others do it, but i dont know the sim unlock code.
Answer: Are you sure it was Tracfone ? I know you can unlock a Tracfone and put another sim in it, but from what I have seen and heard it is impossible to put a Tracfone sim in another phone? Know why? Because a Tracfone sim won't even work in other Tracfones let alone other unlocked phones.
I have never seen any one ever unlock/hack a Tracfone sim and use it in another unlocked gsm phone, ever. I can get Tracfone expert to verify that it is impossible if you want.But bottomline, there are other gsm carriers out there that are reasonable. They run on Att's network but are under a different name.
Air Voice Gsm is 10 cents a minute/text. Order online. LIght use.
Locus O2 offers 500 minutes for 29.99 /month. Order online or Best Buy. They have sim kits there along with airtime cards. Medium use.
Att Gophone now has an unlimited plan now for $60 a month, talk all you want. For a limited time they are offering unlimited text too with it in certain markets for free. You have to get the 25 cents a minute plan, then add features: call 611, add the $60 unlimited talk options.
Heavy use.There you have it, all same network (in fact, you can buy a ATT sim and call the other two companies up and have them activate their accounts on your ATT sim, but you won't get the free bonus minutes. I think Air Voice gsm gives 100 free minutes and o2 is 50.
Finally, Att is the only one with unlimited messaging and internet options. But you know what? Tracfone internet options are so limited as to be almost useless for heavy users.
